Hi everyone. Midseason is now done! I will have that download ready for purchase this afternoon, and will let the members know that they have the cutting edge of debate cases and briefs.
There are a few heavy-lifters in the writing group, and I sure appreciate them. If others would like to slip in a piece here or there, make your mark now. We have some demands in the coming months as we push through the competitive season.
- NSDA: The new resolution releases this morning (see here after 9am). I will write and post an overview article on Monday. We have seven cases to write in Feb and Mar.
- NCFCA: Joel is our big writer, and he’s doing a fabulous job. Travis, you have slots at the end of March, but could you get them in early? I’d like to slip them in between some of Joel’s work. If anyone else has an OPP brief to add, let me know!
- Stoa: Drew has most of the slots, and Mark has one and Travis has two. Most of our writers are in Stoa, so I bet more can be added!
Click here for one of our recent OPP “opposition” briefs. It has all the new styles associated with it, so you can build your brief directly inside this document and re-save. The opposition briefs are written specifically toward debate values and applications that have become popular in the NCFCA and Stoa (NSDA changes so often, we’ll stick with just cases).
You are the expert debaters that our members look up to, and these briefs should take 2-3 hours of focused research and attention to write. I hope creating OPP briefs become fairly easy, maybe a bit fun. Some of you who are still competing I bet could pound these out. Sign up in our document to get your name in some slots.
BTW, in the past few months I have made recommendations on behalf of former writers to Patrick Henry College, Colorado Christian University, and Northwestern Law School. I think a few scholarship opportunities, too. It is very impressive to be noted as a professional writer at a young age, and I very much enjoy doing what I can to get you into the colleges you want. Feel free to hit me up for a reference.
And I hope you breathe competitive success into the last months of Season 17. Sign up to write some briefs!
